01/03/08 SWMPs Become A Legal Requirement
27-03-2009 11:09:12
Hopefully you will have all received the recent flyer we sent informing you of this impending legal requirement. In summary, Site Waste Management Plans were introduced by the DTI last April as a voluntary code of good practice. The aim of the SWMP is to outline a clear structure for the reduction, recycle and disposal of waste at every stage of the construction project. April 2008 saw SWMPs becoming a legal requirement for all projects costing over £300,000
Does this affect you? The legislation dictates that if the total value of the materials AND labour for any project exceeds £300,000, you MUST produce a SWMP Not only can we assist you throughout the formulation of your SWMPs, either producing it for you with in-depth consultation, or just offering expert advice along the way… we can also provide ALL of the waste and recycling services required to adhere to it.
