Compaction & Incineration
Waste Compaction is the process of materials being more closely packed together, and is often used to reduce the size of waste material, and thus the space it consumes at landfill. Particulalrly viable for light bulky waste types (such as cardboard).
There are two common methods for waste compaction, firstly an on site compactor unit which compacts the waste BEFORE it is collected, and secondly waste collection vehicles fitted that compact the waste on collection.
Select A Skip UK Ltd are able to arrange either of these services for you. Please call 0844-443 4443 for more information.
Incineration is an increasingly popular method of waste treatment and disposal in which waste is combusted at high temperatures. A combination of stringent government regulations and technological advances has led to large reductions in incineration plants' dioxins and furans emissions. Other advances in incineration technology have allowed for the separation or removal of hazardous or recyclable materials before combustion. Many modern incinerators are harnessing the energy released from waste to create electricity for home or industrial use. This is a method known as energy-from-waste (EfW). One major use of incineration is the disposal of waste congaing dangerous pathogens which must be destroyed by high temperatures.
